Section III: Unit Standards, Goals, & Objectives
1. Objectives are appropriate and aligned with State Content Standards, Literacy and Numeracy, and 21st Century Skills.
All of the goals and objectives in this unit are aligned with State Content Standards, Literacy and Numeracy, and 21st Century Skills. For example, in the first lesson of this unit the objective aligned with the State Content Standards is as follows: SWBAT depict something about themselves through means of designing a 2-D silhouette with a background showing an understanding of the artistic process through planning, implementing, and reflecting. This objective is aligned with the Art State Content Standards 1.2, 3.1, and 3.3. The Literacy and Numeracy objective: SWBAT write clearly and coherently to describe their work and why they chose the design they did. This is aligned with Literacy/Numeracy in writing, clearly and coherently for a variety of purposes and audiences. Lastly, the objective aligned with 21st Century Skills is SWBAT finish planning and begin work on their final piece where upon they will reflect on their project with a partner for the purpose of building planning, reflection skills to all for later improvements and build cooperative skills. This is aligned with the 21st Century Skills of planning and reflecting to improve, and cooperative learning for a common purpose. All objectives in every lesson in this unit are aligned this way.
2. Goals and objectives are clearly stated.
The students are welcomed to the class and participate in an interactive introduction where they are asked review questions that lead into what will be done in the class that day. At this point students are told the learning objectives so that they know where they are going and what is expected of them to complete their work and time in the art classroom. The Essential Questions are asked during the class or in the end as a closing discussion of the class.
3. Literacy (speaking, writing, reading, or listening), numeracy, 21st Century Skills, and Technology are addressed by at least one goal and/or objective.
The objectives of this unit are all clearly stated and address literacy and numeracy, 21st Century Skills in each of the lesson that are posted in the Instruction and Management Plan. Each lesson has objectives written specifically for Literacy and Numeracy, and 21st Century Skills. As for integrating Technology into the unit. The lesson integrates old technology, watercolor and pastels, with new technology during our presentations using powerpoint presentations and use of new artists for inspiration.

- SWBAT finish planning and begin work on their final piece where upon they will reflect on their project with a partner for the purpose of building planning, reflection skills to allow for later improvements and build cooperative skills.
